The Climbing Begins

One of our best mornings yet. Beautiful sunshine and another breakfast of toast and cay. We got a later start than we wanted so we had to change our plans from Kekova to another ride out to Kalkan. This time we decided to go beyond Kalkan and then descend to Patara. Of course, the problem with long, fast descents is that one must climb back up in order to get home.

The ride back up to Kalkan was a very tough climb with multiple switchbacks. A prelude to what is in store for us tomorrow. After the climb we stopped for cay and some intestine sandwiches. They were actually very tasty.

On the return trip, Paul and Rustem hung back to stop at the beach by the Blue Cave. Paul couldn't resist going in for a swim. Corey, Brian and Tom took advantage of some rollers and a slight tailwind to do 45 minutes of pacelining back to Kas.

It was a tough day in the saddle with even more climbs waiting for us tomorrow. After a quick shower and a beer it was off to dinner for some chicken and Adana kababs. Rustem is planning on making us breakfast in the morning. It will be an early start, 10 AM. We'll better get some sleep, the climbs await.

Today's Stats:
